I base teacher training on adult learning principles and experiential learning.

At World Learning (2016-now)

  • Developing teacher training materials and teachers' guides for all primary school English teachers (g 1-6) in public schools in Lebanon: literacy, social and emotional learning, distance learning, and UDL. Overseeing work of three other content developers

  • Developing training materials for USAID project Uzbekistan Youth Employment Skills (YES) on Universal Design for Learning and Experiential Learning

  • Training, coaching, and reviewing with ministry staff and other experts to create online teacher training courses for primary school Arabic teachers (g 1-4) in Morocco

  • Trainer of trainers in establishing the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Prishtina in Kosovo

  • One of the three trainers for an 11-day training on Best Practices in TESOL in the Dominican Republic

  • Training and coaching of the founders of the Palestinian English Language Teachers' Association

  • Teaching strategies and use of technology (Delivered in Spanish as ‘Estrategias didácticas y uso de herramientas tecnológicas’), University of Costa Rica. Week-long training for 15 grade school teachers of multiple indigenous languages and cultures, Costa Rica

  • Online: Through the Department of State/ECA OPEN program, I led the design of two online teacher training courses that have had more than 30,000 graduates: Integrating Critical Thinking into the Exploration of Culture in an EFL Setting and Content-Based Instruction


At Saint Louis University

  • Chief organizer of teacher orientation week in August 2008- 2010, 2013, 2014

  • Conducted the monthly In-Service Seminars for all (approx. 16) foreign language teaching assistants in the Department of Modern & Classical Languages, Fall 2007 – Spring 2013.

  • Mentor for 1 or 2 teachers-in-training per semester, Fall 2007 – Fall 2011 (except Fall 2010); 4 in Fall 2012. Supervised 10 hours of activities per week per mentee.

  • Coordinator and supervisor of first-year Spanish classes

Delivered two weeks of training on the use of technology in English as a foreign language classes. The participants were visiting South Korean public school teachers.
