At World Learning (2016-now)

  • For the USAID-funded project Youth Employment Skills (YES) in Uzbekistan,

    1. Led Foundational Best Practices workshop with Ministry of Education in Uzbekistan: How to update or create new curricula at the national level (August, 2022)

    2. Continue supporting the revision of the grade 8-11 economics and entrepreneurship curriculum by providing templates and feedback

  • As HQ English lead for QITABI 2 (2019-now), worked with members of the Lebanese Ministry of Education's (CERD) to map out the English curriculum for KG through 7th grade. With this, we

    1. Chose how to reduce the curriculum in half to identify the core curriculum to address during years 2019+, in response to school closings due to political unrest and Covid

    2. Rearranged the order of core learning objectives to create the most coherent and developmentally appropriate curriculum possible

    3. Translated these into lessons and diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments for full school year, grades 1-6

  • For the project Syrian Refugee Kids Can Code, I created a communicative English and psychosocial support curriculum to fit into the Kano coding curriculum that was taught to students ages 11-14

  • As founder, performed market analysis and in response, created communicative English events that targeted soft skill instruction as well. Programs included

    2. Game nights

    3. Cultural conversations

    4. Improv

    5. Kids' summer camp, ages 10-12

    6. Soft skills for business

    7. Conference networking

At Saint Louis University (2007-2015)

  • Director of Basic Language, Spanish: I was the DBL of Spanish during my first two years at Saint Louis University

  1. Oversaw the adoption of a new textbook and companion website with activities

  2. Established the syllabi for first and second year Spanish classes

  3. Redesigned the weekly lab classes to add the option of participating remotely

  4. Added in "talleres de habla" into the basic Spanish classes, to add explicit instruction on pronunciation and culture. Created all materials for these and trained instructors on their use.

As Director of Graduate Program in Spanish

  1. Led faculty through the process of updating the MA program curriculum, following a 7-year review

At Indiana Center for Intercultural Communication, IUPUI (Summers 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005)

  • Planned curricula for written and oral English classes for college students from Japan. Coordinated curricula with cultural events, field trips, and weekend trips

At University of Talca, (Talca, Chile, 1999-2001)

  • Created Business English classes for the business major
